私が児島に移住した23年前
公衆電話のタウンページを捲って被服会社の上から順番に電話して働きたい思いを伝え続けました。
でも
『男でミシンを踏む人なんて求めてない』
『未経験は要らない』
と散々門前払いされた結果、一社だけが拾ってくれて縫製の世界に飛び込んだ訳ですが、当時20歳の自分の親以上の方に囲まれてミシンを踏みました。
休憩時間にはジーンズトークが繰り広げられるのかと思ってましたがそんな事を話す相手なんかいません。
その景色を目の当たりにした時に、自分が10年後20年後このままだと縫製工場が日本から無くなってしまうと想像した事を今でも鮮明に覚えてます。
結果その私を拾ってくれた縫製工場は倒産してしまう訳だけど、時を経て20歳の少年が夢見た
未経験でも好きな奴らが集まり男でも女でも関係なくミシンを踏んで、休憩時間にクダラナイトークをしながら働く夢をやっと叶えたんだ。
そんな思いを会社の若者とタコ焼き食べながら思い出しました。
これからも時々心に未来予想図を描こう。

I moved to Kojima 23 years ago.
I kept calling all sewing factories listed on the phonebook but the reaction was cold.
“We don’t need any men for sewing job.”, “We hire experienced sewing workers.”

But there was only a company who opened the door for me but all my colleagues were older than my own parent.
I was hoping that I would have some fun lunchtime with the colleagues of the similar age but it wasn’t the case at all. When I faced it, it immediately made me realize that this industry would disappear in a decade or two.

Some years later, the first company which gave me a job went into bankruptcy and the time has passed.
When I was 20 year old boy, I dreamed of making my own factory and working together with guys regardless of male or female/ experienced or not but those who like jeans.

Eating octopus balls with these young boys during the photo session made me feel sentimental a little bit.
