Blogや店頭ではカッコつけてダブルステッチという言い方をしてるかも知れませんが、児島の現場言葉では巻き縫いの事を二重線と呼んでます。
私たちTCBは二重線にはもちろん拘ってて７台のUNION SPECIAL35800を所有しており全て針のゲージや設定をアイテム別に変更し使い分けます。
ゲージで言えばユニオンだけで1/4インチ　2/32インチ　5/16インチが有ります。
昔のミシンはネジ穴が長穴でミシンの設定を使う人に委ねられます。生地が厚い時やパッカリングを出したい時、出したく無い時を、ネジを締める位置で変える事が可能です。
これは井原に行った時に力織機を操る職人さんも同じ事を言ってたので古い機械を操る人は全てノウハウを持たれてる気がします。
そんな苦労を穿いてくれた人が、TCBのダブルステッチって何か違うよなーって感じ取ってくれたら嬉しいです。

On the blog or at TCB factory, we might try to sound cool by calling lap seams but on the manufacturing site, sewing people in Kojima call the lap seams Nijyuusen (literally translated as dual lines).
We pay much attention to the dual lines and we have 7 different Union Special and the machine setting on each machine is different for different models. Speaking of the gauge, we have 1/4inch, 2/32inch and 5/16inch.
Old sewing machines have more vertical screw holes than the ones of current machines so that it allows you more room for the precise machine setting. Like when you have to sew heavy ounce, when you want to have strong roping, etc.

The grandmasters of weaving in Ibara city have told me the similar stuff about their shuttle machines so the same thing applies to the old weaving machines. It’ll play a subtle but an important roll when it comes to fading so I’m glad that if you noticed the difference on the dual lines (lap seams)
