って急に話しかけて
専務に『え？オリンピックのジーンズとか絶対にスベるパターン』
って開口言われて始まった専務とのMTG

I said to our production manager without any context “Isn’t it so great to release the Olympic brand jeans in the year when we have Olympic in Japan?

He said ” What? is it some sort of an anniversary model? I don’t think they’d sell tho…”
That was how the meeting started.

確かに過去に有ったオリンピックモデルで何か欲しい物が有ったかというとOMEGAの時計くらいでしょうか。
（あと1980年のアメリカの冬季オリンピックに作られたムートンの3rdは忘れたらダメですね）
OMEGAはアニバーサリーモデルの出し方が上手で….すぐに脱線

Yeah but I get his point. There are several olympic anniversary models I’ve been dying to get, Omega watch and
Levis Mouton Jacket made for the Lake Placid Olympic back in 1980. Omega is, in my opinion, very good at making anniversary models such as… sorry, too much derailment.

この度許可を頂いて掲載させて頂いてる青田充弘さん著書「501XXは誰が作ったのか?』
でも書かれてますが、オリンピックモデルの名前の由来が五輪に関係有るかどうかは不明です。
ただこう記されてます。
『1916年にドイツのベルリンで開催されるはずだったオリンピックを意識したのでしょうか。戦争の影響で中止になってしまったものの、戦争が早く集結して、無事にオリンピックが開催されてほしい、そんな思いが込められていたのかもしれません。』

In the book, Who made 501XX? ~Untold Levis History~ written by Mitsuhiro Aota, the author’s written so much information about the olympic brand but even he could not reach the reason why Olympic Brand was born or whether it was related to Olympic. But, he says in the book, “Levis might have thought about the Olympic that was supposed to be held in Berlin in 1916. It was cancelled due to the world war one but they might have put some thoughts into these Olympic Brand that the would would go back to peach and Olympics would be held without any problems.

この一文を読んだ時、今とは形は違えど普通に開催されるオリンピックイヤーにVintageと出会った訳では無く、日本の開催で、かつ開催出来るの出来ないの？という大会のタイミングでLogWoodでジーンズを作るタイミングを持てた事は純粋に楽しもうと専務と話をしました。
仕様的にはUNIONの巻きの幅はどれで行くのか？オーバロックのセッティング、裾は43200の出番は無いよ！なんて確認をして生産を進めて行きます。

After I read this sentence again, I thought we should just enjoy making these jeans in Tokyo Olympic year because it’s such a miracle that TCB could do this even if Tokyo Olympic would be cancelled due to the Covid.
So, on this day we discussed the width of lap seams on each part of the jeans, how the setting of overlocking should be, and what machine we should use for the hemming etc.
