LEVIS 519XX
1stのBlanket verです。

1stって聞くと30年代って言いがちですが、Blanket付きは2ndに変わる直前の1951年に１年のみの生産と言われてて,恐らく生産量も少ないと想像できます。
50’sの証拠に使用されてるバックルは針を使わないスライドバックルになります。
そして忘れてはいけない1枚袖なのも特徴ですね。

あとここはイレギュラーなだけでしょうが、
BLANKETの色とボーダーのピッチが前身と後身で微妙に違います。
薄い色の方がザックリしてます。
これは恐らく狙った訳では無く、1着の中にロット違いのBLANKETが使用される事によって2トーンになってしまってると推測されます。
もし仮にこれを再現しようとすると2つの異なる生地を2パターン作る必要が有る為、とても大変だよなって想像してしまいました。

I’d like to introduce a vintage piece today. It’s a Levis 519XX, Type 1 with a wool blanket lined.
When you think about Type 1, you might associate the jacket era with 30’s but when it comes to this lined ver,
it’s said that these were produced only in 1950~51 right before the type 2 appeared in the market. So, that’s why you rarely find this vintage jacket. The cinch back is also unique on this jacket and it’s called a Slide Buckle without the needles. In addition, the armholes are finished with 1 piece sleeve, which is unusual for Levis jacket.

If you look closely at the wool fabric, the color and the pitch of the stripe is different between the fabric used on the front body and the one used on the back body, which I assume was an irregular detail. I don’t think it was deliberately done but was brought by the slight difference made due to a different production batch of the wool fabric. If we did a faithful reproduction on that, it’d be really tough because you’d need 3 different custom made fabric just for a piece of clothe…
