今年、日本一の気温を計測してる岐阜県
7月某日、夏の始まりに私は去年作ったBLANKETの50’sJKを着用してションヘル織機に逢いに行って来ました。
妻からは
『BLANKETを着用したい気持ちは分かったんだけど,今日は暑いし汗っかきなんだから到着してから撮影の時だけ着れば良いじゃないの？』
と言われたのが今年のコロナ禍の唯一の夏らしいエピソードですが、
物作りをする身として礼儀が有ります。
ションヘル織機に逢いに行くのに家から着てきた奴と撮影時に着替えるビジネスアパレルマンとではションヘルも全然動き方が違うのでは無いか？って
そんな事を意外と真剣に考えながら向かった訳ですが、
今年も戦友XX DEVELOPMENTの太一くんに監修して貰いながら佐藤さんの技術を存分に発揮して貰う様にお願いして来ました。
手書きのレシピと佐藤さんの勘を頼りに作って頂いたBLANKET
去年61年動いてるションヘルと聞きましたので、今年のBLANKETは62年目の佐藤さんの仕事になりますね。

I was in Gifu prefecture where the highest temperature was recorded in Japan this summer.
One day in Gifu in July, I visited the wool weaving factory, wearing the wool lined 50’s Jacket. My wife told me that “I understand that you wanna wear the lined jacket to show some respect to the manufacturer of the wool fabric but it’s super hot today and you sweat a lot anyways so why don’t you wear the jacket just for the photo shooting?” But I have my personal discipline to respect craftsman as me being a craftsman myself.

I told myself seriously that it would makes a difference in the quality of the fabric. Also, I don’t wanna be a business poser guy who wears the jacket just for the photo shoot. I mean if I wear them from my house, the craftsman would think I’m crazy but they also think that I love what he makes from the bottom of my heart, which I think will makes some slight difference to the passion of the craftsman.

This year again, I asked help from Taichi-san from XX Development. Thanks to him and the experience of the craftsman, Sato-san, we came up with the final recipe of each thread and Bang, we made two different custom made wool fabrics. Last year he told me he’d worked with these Schonherr machines for 61 years so these fabrics are the fruits of his effort, knowledge and experience of 62 years!
