昨日は何故VintageのBLANKETの柄がボーダーなのかという仮説を紹介させて頂きました。
そして今日XX DEVELOPMENTの太一君から嬉しい報告が有りました。
『今回のBLANKETのWOOL部分はTROY同様リサイクルウールだよ！』

I talked about my speculation on the reason why the vintage wool fabric is always stripe.
And today, Taichi fromm XX development brought me a good news!
“The wool used for our wool lined type 1 is also made of recycled wool like Troy’s!”

尾州一宮には昔からハンモウ屋さんってのが有って古着を回収して色ごとに分けてハンモウ綿を作るという会社が有るみたいです。
何故誰も語らないんだろうね？って思いました。
理由は昔から有るけどハンモウっていうのが常識過ぎて改めて説明する文化が無いみたいですね。
厳密には古着のみだと強度が出なかったり色味の調整の為バージンウールも混ぜてるみたいです。
ウールをワークウエアに使う時にあまり高価にならないように、リサイクルウールにしたってのが当時の理由かもしれませんが…
何となく私が想像したBLANKETがボーダーの理由が分かった気がします！
※ハンモウとは、生地をもとの綿または毛状の単繊維に戻したものも指します。 糸くず、裁断くず、ぼろ布、古着などを反毛機・割糸機などで処理し、繊維素原料にしてまた再利用します。

In Bisyu Ichinomiya where the wool weaving industry is centered in Japan, there are some companies who collect used wool fabrics and assort them based on the color of the fabric and then make recycled wool cotton. But it seems this is so common for the people in the industry that they think it’s just too standard to talk about. The process is called Hanmou/reclaiming wool. Strictly speaking, some virgin wools are added to enhance the durability of fabric and to balance the color. I guess people used to use these reclaimed wool because they wanted to cut the cost too. But I’m sure this is why the wool blanket on vintage garments are mostly stripe pattern.

そして本日の写真はさんざんWOOLの色の理由を語ってるのに何故か白生地専用の児島の力織機工場にて…というミスマッチですが
白い帆布も青いINDIGOもカラフルな2トーンのWOOLもみんな着用者に染まって良い色になってくれると思います。

Today’s photos are a bit irrelevant to what I’ve explained on this blog because it was shot at the weaving factory who weaves white canvas fabric. White canvas, indigo denim, and colorful wool fabrics. They will all fit you better as you wear and they’ll eventually show its fade, worn history that only you can develop!
