初のデザイナージーンズ？とWranglerが語られる由縁としては、ハリウッドの西部劇の衣装も手掛けていたデザイナーロデオベン氏がデザインをしてるからだと言われてます。

よく語られる部分としてはプリーツ留めのステッチが丸いドットタックだったりアクションプリーツが付いてたりという部分に目が行きますよね。

ただ今回ライニング付きVerを作るからこそ気付いた面白い考え方を発見しました。

通常ワークウエアはステッチが金茶や生成りだったりが多いと思いますが下糸を変更するという概念がほとんど有りません。
結果バックスタイルを見た時にネーム付けのステッチが良くも悪くも浮いてます。
そんなステッチが、個人的にはワークだな。アメリカだな！と萌えるポイントでは有るんですが、さすがWranglerは世界初のデザイナーブランド。
通常ポケットを金茶の糸で縫い付ける際に上糸と下糸を同じで縫えば裏から見た時にはポケットのステッチが目立ちます。
誰もそこに疑問は持ちません。
ただ、ゴールデンライナーは違います。
おそらく黄色い生地に対して金茶のステッチが走る事がデザイナー的に許せなかったんでしょう…この年代には珍しく下色はライニングに合わせて変えられています。
昨今の洋服ではよく使われる手法ですが、1950年代に偶然では無いと思いますが、このステッチに違和感を覚えたという所が一番デザイナーズジーンズだと思いました。

他のワークウエアブランドは工場が仕様を決めてるんだろうなと思う部分が多いのに、ちょっと作り方の目線が違う部分が作ってて面白かったです。

Levisはプリーツの四角いステッチを解けばサイズをアジャスト出来ると言われてますがプリーツをドットタックで留めてるので解けなくなっちゃって実用的では無いのも有る意味デザイナーズ

私の家はデザイナーが設計してくれてるからメチャクチャカッコいいんだけど、時々住みづらいんだ。
そんな家に住んで、そんなセリフを吐いてみたいものです。

It’s often said that Wrangler is the first designer-jean brand because Mr. Rodeo Ben directs the brand who was also the designer for Hollywood western movies.
The innovative designs Wrangler is famous for are such details as the round dot tucks, the action pleats, etc.In addition, I also noticed one interesting detail this time.
In the work wear sewing, you often see the golden orange threads but you rarely change the color of the bottom threads.As a result the inner stitches stands out both in a good and bad way. But it’s also true that the golden orange thread seams seen inside are the very American style we all love but Wrangler is different. Maybe the designer hated to have the golden orange stitch on the creamy yellow fabric inside so the bottom thread color was changed to the same creamy color. Nowadays it’s a very common sewing detail not to make the inner seams stand out but you rarely see it from any work wear of the 50’s. 
When checking some random vintage piece,  I see and notice some sewing details and how you actually sew which production managers probably had the authority to decide thinking about the production efficiency and the kinds of equipment they had but Wrangler didn’t make me feel that way. You can adjust the chest size by taking off the box pleats on Levis Jacket but Wrangler doesn’t allow you to do so because of the dot tucks. It might not be practical but that’s also a part of what a designer-brand is.
“My house is designed by a famous architect so it looks super cool.  But  I sometimes find it a bit inconvenient.” Someday I wanna say things like this!
