DENIMを作る時、ざっくりと説明すると発注してから綿を糸にして貰って、経糸をロープ染色して織って貰うという流れになります。
もちろんこれも長い工程を踏むんですが、それに比べて更に長い道ノリなのがTCBだとPaw Stripeの生地でしょうか。
1920年代のStifelの生地を再現するためには発注してから綿を糸にして貰い、織って、そこから生地でインディゴ染めして表面を猫の足跡柄に着色抜染プリント、その後に裏側に猫をオーバープリントという長い道のり。
そんな長い道のりを抜けてやっと生地がTCBの所まで辿り着いてくれたのでCathartt Chore Coat Paw Stripeを予約開始を始める事が出来ました。
私も初回分は自分の分を確保出来ていないので今回の分は抑えたいと思います。
到着まで少しまだ有りますが楽しみにして頂けたらと思います。

Speaking of making denim fabric, the procedures basically go like below. Choosing cotton, Spinning them to make threads, and dyeing them by indigo. It’s a long journey to go but when it comes to wabash fabric, it’s way more to go. In order to reproduce wabash fabric in reverence to the Stifel fabric of 20’s, we need to weave white fabric first, and then fabric dye, discharging the fabric with the paw pattern, and you also need to print the logo on the backside of the fabric.

It’s been almost 6 months to produce this fabric and finally we can make them again for this autumn!
