『金を掘った奴に金持ちはいない』
この話はビジネス書にも載ってる様な有名な話です。
1848年にアメリカ西海岸で鉱山が発見され、ゴールドラッシュが起きました
世界中から一攫千金を目指して集まった人たちを49ersと呼びますよね。
でもここからが大事な話で実際に金を掘り当てて人生が変わった人はほとんど居なくて
実際には一攫千金を夢見る人たちに向けたビジネスでお金持ちになった人は生まれたと言われます。
飲食はもちろんホテルや銀行、弁護士など….
そしてビジネスで一番稼いだのがそう
『リーバイス』
でした。

“During the Gold Rush, most would-be miners lost money, but people who sold them picks, shovels, tents and blue-jeans made a nice profit.”
I guess this is a famous quote from the Gold Rush era.
In 1848, a big gold mine was found in the west and this big movement followed.
People dreamed of instant fortune and moved to the west coast right? famous 49ers.
But as the saying goes, most of the miners lost money and those who targeted those miners got rich.
Restaurants, hotels, bank etc but the very company who gained the most profit was … Levis.

この話はジーンズが好きってのも有りますが物を提供する側の人間としても大好きな話です。
だから現在もTCBはジーンズを売るのでは無く『ジーンズが有る生活を提供する』と謳っているんだと思います。

I’m, as you all know, a hard core denim lover so that I love this story as a denim lover but also as a businessman who supply products with customers. Maybe this is related to our motto, “We offer a good life with a good pair of jeans.”

さて
前置きが長くなりましたが、今日の本題はジーンズの話では有りません。
いつもRyo君を筆頭に会社の若者チームは休憩時間に会社の前でスケボーをしてるんですが、ある日私が２Fで仕事してると休憩時間じゃないのに会社の前でスケボーをしてる音が聞こえてきます。
誰かな？って思い外を観ると小中学生7人ほどがRyo君と同じ場所で嬉しそうにスケボーをしてました。
恐らくRyo君や田中を観た少年たちが憧れて同じ場所でやり始めたんだと思います。

Well, I may have talked too much already but we are not talking about jeans or denim today.
Recently, Ryo and the red-cap guy skate in front of TCB factory during lunch time and one day when I was working at the balcony of the company I noticed some big noises of skateboarding. I thought Ryo and young boys ditched work skateboarding but actually some high school students, maybe 7~8 of them, were skating there. Maybe they saw our boys skating there and started the same there.

私は冗談まじりにDOG TOWNのZ-BOYSに対抗して中小路のN-BOYSを作ると言い始めました。
冒頭の話と強引に繋げますが、
スケーターが集まり出したんだったら、その人たちに向けて何かを提供する。

私には横乗り文化は無いので半分ネタですが、本気の人もポーザーの人も是非試してみて下さい。

When I saw this sequence of events, I felt I should make something to sell to those like Levis did in the
gold rush era. As a result, a new tee is now up online. N-Boys T (Ryo’s last name is N) in reference to Z-boys from Dogtown. Levis sold blue jeans to the miners and TCB is doing the same for skaters!
As we can’t sew T-shirts with our machines, I’ve asked Taichi from XX development to make these Ts again like we did for Caturday and No Shampoo Club T last year.

Skateboarding was never my culture but I want real skaters to wear this;) I would be a poser if I wore this though lol.
