第二次世界大戦時にアメリカの政府から発令されたWPB　
During the ww2 era, War Production Board was officially announced by the government.

Simplifiedの代表的ディテールコインポケットのリベットの廃止
そのリベットの数を守らなければならないのですが、リベットを打つ時にどうしても癖で６個打つのが身体に染み付いており、何度かS40’sなのにコインポケットにリベットを付けてしまいました。

One of the iconic details for Simplified 501 is no rivets attached on the coin pocket but when we produce our Simplified model, we just instinctively attach them by mistakes because we have been making jeans for more than 10 years and 99.5% of the times, we have been attaching the coin pocket rivets.

そこで今回考えた結果
『スクエアステッチ縫える君』
以来の大発明、題して
『WPB守る君シート』
を発明しました。

I revisited the production methods and invented ” Mr. WPB Compliance”, which invention was followed by my previous one, Mr. easy box pleats.

１着１着ガムテープを貼る手間は有りますが確実にWPBを守れる為、採用しております。
因みにWPBの内容の中には金属の種類によっては規制を掛けており銅の使用を禁止されております。
TCBS40’sもリベットは鉄に銅メッキを施したWPB適用仕様になっております。
現在生産が追いついてないS40’sJeansの工程も最終段階なので予約頂いてるお客様はもう少しで完成です。

It’s more laborious to apply a tape to each pair than you might think ( we make 300~1000 pairs in one- batch, you know) but adopted Mr. WPB compliance, as in just a duct tape, to be in pursuant to War Production Board.
In addition to the reduced number of rivets on Simplified model, there was a restriction on the material used for these metal parts and it was prohibited to use copper-made rivets for work wears back then.
So the rivets on our S40’s are made of steel and plated in copper for the coating.
