初めてTCBでGジャンを作った時は一番大きなサイズが確か42でした。
When we made our first Jean jacket, I remember the biggest size was 42.

その理由がマーケティングの結果か？イニシャルコストの都合か？
答えは両方ともNOで発売当時、私のサイズが42だったっていうのが単純な理由です。

Was it because of the result of the marketing or due to some budget reasons?
No, it was only because my size was 42 back then.

時を経て、私の身体の成長と共に44が増え、46が増え、とうとうこの度48と50を追加する次第となりました。
As the time goes by, I’ve been gradually gaining more weight so the jacket size was expanded to 44, and then 46 and this time up to 50!

体重が増えてしまった事に百害有って一理無しと人は言いますが、
TCBが大きいサイズを展開した結果、ヨーロッパやアメリカの大きいサイズの方達が、
『JAPAN DENIMは好きだけど、俺たちのサイズが基本無いんだけどTCBは着用出来る』
と言い出してくれた事は唯一私にとって偶然の産物です。it’s said that there is no benefit in gaining weight but only 100s of demerits.
But luckily for us it worked in a good way for our overseas customers.

そして偶然の産物と言えばもう一つ
当時のLeviがGジャンの大きなサイズを作る時に、生地幅の狭いセルビッチに後身が入らないから生地をセパレートして作ったのがT-Backの始まりですよね。

When Levi’s made big size jacket, the selvedge fabric was too narrow to take the back body parts of jean jackets so that the icon for big sizes, T-Back(Separated back) was developed.

当初の理由は生産都合のネガティブな仕様だったのかも知れませんが、時を経てこの仕様がカッコいいって言われる用になるんだから不思議なものです。
It was sorta negative reasons why Tback was born but after a century the T back is cool now. Life and denim are strange you know.

さぁ二つの偶然が重なってTCBが作る大きいT-BACKの30’sJKを宜しくお願い致します。

So now our 30’s jacket in 48 and 50 are on sale.

※マーキングされてる写真　1枚目の写真はTCB30’sJKのサイズ50のマーキングです。　2枚目の写真はもしサイズ50がセパレートされてなかった場合を仮定してみました。分かりにくいのですが赤く塗られた部分が生地幅より広くなりますのでTCB30’sJKのパターンを使ってセパレート無しで生産しようと思っても裁断不可な事が確認出来ます。

In the first picture, it’s the cut pattern for 30’s jacket in 50. In the second pic, it shows when the back body of size 50 were not separated as a hypothesis. The red highlighted part is the excess against the width of the fabric roll. It means that the back body can not be produced from selvedge fabric unless you make them separated.
