観れば観るほど可愛いなって思ってたWinchesterの生地
この生地は当時Levisが用意した訳では無く元々Winchester社が作ってた物らしいです。
アパレルじゃないWinchester側が作った生地だからかもしれませんがベースの生地はチープなのですがそれが良い意味でプリントを際立たせたのではないかと思ってます。

The more I looked at the Winchester fabric, the cuter I found it.
The fabric was original for the Winchester Rifle company so it’s not that Levis actually made it for them.
It looks a bit cheap maybe because a rifle company made them but it kinda worked in a good way for this fabric, making the print design stand out more. Just my personal opinion, though.

最初は９種類の動物をずっと見つめて
『可愛いなー』
って思ってたのが
いつもの悪い癖で
『猫にしたいなー』
となった次第です。
タテヨコ20番手のシーチングという平織の生地でオンスは4.5oz
顔料プリントにて９パターンの猫をプリントしました。

At first, I was looking at these 9 different animals but gradually it turned out that I want to make it with 9 cats. so here it is. 4.5oz with 9 different cats design.

クロネコは撮影が難しい為、タンゴがイラストを含む３匹、トラちゃんが6匹という構成です。
今回Winchesterを元ネタに作るシャツの名前はMeowchester
ボタンもVintageはライフルを作ってるWinchester社らしく使用済みの弾丸から作られるというアップサイクル仕様だったみたいなのですが、流石にTCBではライフルの使用済みの弾丸を手に入れるまで辿り着く事が出来なかったので真鍮で作成しました。もちろんフォントには拘り、vintageには30-30と記載されてるのですがMeowchesterは2-22のニャンニャン仕様です。
そしてスナップボタンの爪も昨今の形は8つ割れと言って８つの爪でスナップするのが主流なんですが、TCBではVintage同様6つ割れを再現しました。
The name is Meowchester. The original buttons used to be made by used bullets but we didn’t have no ways to reproduce that so we just copied the shape and used copper for the material. The font is also the same as vintage but put 2-22 instead of 30-30 because it’s pronounced as Meow Meow Meow in Japanese.

The prongs of snap buttons are usually separated into 8 parts but vintage has only 6 prongs.

6つにしてる理由はシャツを引っ掛けてしまった時、スナップに力が加わると外れやすくして生地が破れない様にする為と聞いたことが有ります。
取り外しは軽くなってしまうという難点は多少有りますが恐らくDENIMより薄いウエスタンシャツに採用するには６つ割れが最適だったんだろうなと思います。

The reason why it was back then 6 prongs is I guess they made the buttons to take off easily so that the fabric don’t get ripped.
