SHOP Coat という名前を聞いた時、
最初はただの作業着だと思っていました。
でもよく調べていくと、
それは少し違っていました。
作業着を守るための服。
そして、作業着のまま外に出ないための一枚。
急な来客や、
少しだけ外へ出る用事。
そんな時に、
さっと羽織るために生まれた服です。
だからこのコートには、
脇からインナーにアクセスできるポケットが付いています。
財布や鍵をそのままにしていても、
困らないように。
一見するとシンプルなディテールですが、
その背景を知ると、
すべてに理由があることに気付かされます。
とはいえ、今の自分にとっては、
やっぱり仕事着としての側面も大きい。
工場の3Fに積まれた生地をチェックする時も、
倉庫の在庫を見る時も、
このコートを羽織っていると、
自然と気持ちが切り替わる気がします。
Atelier Coat と呼ばれることがあるのも、
どこか納得できます。
社内で揃って着ていると、
それだけで少し空気が締まる。
今回使用しているRip Stopはインディゴ。
着込んでいくことで、
方眼の表情がゆっくりと浮かび上がってきます。
まだ完成していない表情。
だからこそ、これからが楽しみな一着です。
When I first heard the name “SHOP Coat,”
I thought it was just another piece of workwear.
But after looking into it a bit more,
I realized it’s actually something different.
A garment made to protect your workwear.
And a piece meant to keep you from stepping outside in it.
For unexpected visitors,
or those small moments when you need to step out.
This coat was made to be thrown on, just like that.
That’s why it features access pockets on the sides,
so you can reach inside what you’re already wearing.
Your wallet, your keys—
everything stays where it is, without any trouble.
At first glance, it’s a simple detail.
But once you understand the background,
you start to see the reason behind everything.
That said, for me today,
it still plays a big role as workwear.
Whether I’m checking the fabric stacked on the third floor,
or going through inventory in the warehouse,
putting on this coat somehow switches something inside me.
It’s easy to see why some people call it an “Atelier Coat.”
When everyone in the workshop wears the same one,
it brings a certain tension into the space.
The fabric we used this time is indigo ripstop.
With wear, the grid pattern will slowly begin to appear.
It’s still unfinished.
And that’s exactly what makes it interesting.
