2024年2月22日、猫の日にリリースした
Cathartt Traveller Coat。
早い物でもう２年も経つんですね。
その色違いとして、
この春に向けて私たちが用意したのが
Rip Stop バージョンです。
Traveller Coatは、Tabby’s Coatに比べて
テーラードの要素を取り入れた、
どこか上品な雰囲気を持つコート。
テーラー襟に前振りの袖。
脇には三日月状に見える箱ポケット。
ワークウエアでありながら、
どこか旅人のような佇まいを持つ一着です。
□ 生地 – Rip Stop × Indigo
今回採用したのはリップストップ。
軍パンやテントなど、ミリタリーの世界でよく見かける素材ですが、
今回はあえて先染めのインディゴ糸を使用しました。
“育てられるリップストップ”として
Traveller Coatに落とし込んでいます。
格子状に走る補強糸は、
結果的にウインドーペンのスーツのような表情を生み、
ワークでもミリタリーでもない、
少し知的な空気を纏っています。
無骨さと上品さのちょうど中間。
最初は少し猫を被っているけれど、
着込むほどに本性が出てくる。
そんなRip Stopです。
そして
Tabby’s Coatを作った時から感じていたことがあります。
いわゆるアメカジと呼ばれる方のワードローブは、
アウターも含めてショート丈が中心。
Gジャンを買っても、カバーオールを買っても、
「同じようなの持ってなかった？」
と言われるのはあるあるです。
そんな方にこそ、
一着コートを加えてほしい。
丈が変わるだけで、
ローテーションは驚くほど広がります。
Traveller Coatは、
ワークをベースにしながらも少し上品。
だからこそ、
リップストップの格子がスーツのウインドーペンのように映る。
カバーオールでは出せない空気感を

we released the Cathartt Traveller Coat.
It’s hard to believe that nearly two years have already passed.
As a new color variation for this spring,
we are introducing the Rip Stop version.
Compared to the Tabby’s Coat,
the Traveller Coat incorporates more tailored elements,
giving it a slightly refined atmosphere.
With its tailored collar and forward-set sleeves,
and the crescent-shaped welt pockets at the sides,
it is a workwear piece that carries
the quiet presence of a traveler.
□ Fabric – Rip Stop × Indigo
For this version, we selected ripstop fabric.
Commonly seen in military trousers and tents,
ripstop is usually associated with utilitarian durability.
However, this time we intentionally used pre-dyed indigo yarn.
We wanted to create a “ripstop that you can grow.”
The reinforcing grid woven into the fabric
creates a look reminiscent of a windowpane suit pattern,
resulting in something that is neither purely workwear nor purely military —
but carries a subtle, intellectual air.
It sits right between ruggedness and refinement.
At first, it wears a cat’s disguise,
but the more you wear it, the more its true character emerges.
That is this Rip Stop.
When we first created the Tabby’s Coat,
there was something we began to notice.
For many people who love classic American casual style,
their wardrobes — including outerwear —
tend to revolve around short-length jackets.
Whether it’s a denim jacket or a coverall,
you often hear,
“Didn’t you already have something like that?”
That’s exactly why we would encourage you
to add a coat to your rotation.
Simply changing the length
can dramatically expand your styling options.
The Traveller Coat is rooted in workwear,
yet carries a touch of refinement.
That is why the ripstop grid
can almost resemble the windowpane of a tailored suit.
It creates an atmosphere
that a traditional coverall simply cannot.
