GW前の事ですが家族でMOTOさんに逢いに行ってきました。
MOTOさんのプライベートスペースで手料理をご馳走になるというスペシャルな時間。
食後はMOTOさんコレクションでもあるMADE IN OCCUPIED JAPANのオモチャで遊んで貰っていました。
一つ数十万する物も有るらしいのですがゼンマイを巻いておもちゃの前でピョンピョン跳ねて喜んでる娘を観て私は
『絶対に踏むなよ』
と願うばかり
MOTOさんに逢いに行く理由は家族が喜ぶというシンプルな理由も有りますが私自身は身を引き締めに。
帰り道では
『私もしっかりとモノを作らないとな。』
と思いながら帰ります。
私は日々
『今後の日本の製造業ってどうなるんだろう』
と考えます。
MOTOさんは
『戦後1947年から1952年の5年間、外貨を稼ぎ復興の為に日本はオモチャを作って輸出してた』
と教えてくれました。
これからも誇りをもって日本のクラフトマンシップを世界中に届けて行こうとゼンマイで動くオモチャとそれを観て喜ぶ未来有る娘を観ながら誓う。
そんな素敵な1日です。

I went to visit Moto-san’s atelier with my family and he welcomed us with special lunch . After that my daughter found some old toys and she was immediately obsessed with them. I know these are very old toys that cost more than 1000 dollars since it’s so old that they were made by occupied Japan.

Every time I meet with Moto san I feel like I’ve received much energy.

I always wonder What will happen to Japan’s manufacturing industry in the future?

Mr. MOTO taught me today that
“For five years after the war, from 1947 to 1952, Japan made and exported toys in order to earn foreign currency and rebuild the country”

I vowed in my heart to continue proudly delivering Japanese craftsmanship to the world as I looked at the toy that moves with a clockwork and my daughter playing with them, who has a bright future.
It’s such a wonderful day.
