昨年の後半からTCBでは、
さまざまな職業やシーンのために生まれてきたカバーオールを、
“用途の物語”ごとに比べながら選んでもらえるよう、
ラインナップを少しずつ整えてきました。
そして、その旅は今年もまだ終わりません。
今回のベースとなるジャケットは Cat Head。
素材には、ありそうでこれまで作ってこなかった、
インディゴ×生成りのベーシックなヒッコリーストライプを採用しています。
実際に袖を通していただくと、
ヒッコリーがどれほど汚れを目立たせにくく、
日々の中でどれだけ頼れる素材か、
きっと体感してもらえると思います。
シンプルな縦のストライプは、
視覚的にもすっきりと映り、
着こなし全体を軽やかに見せてくれます。
当時は、ただ「必要」だった機能。
汚れを隠すために選ばれた柄や素材が、
時代を越えて、いつの間にか「美しさ」になっている。
そんな偶然の積み重ねが、
結果としてデザインになっているところに、
ワークウェアという服の、
変わらない魅力があるのだと思います。
Since the latter half of last year, TCB has been gradually refining its lineup of coveralls—
so that each piece can be chosen by comparing the stories of their intended use,
born from different professions and scenes.
And that journey is far from over this year.
The base for this jacket is Cat Head.
For the fabric, we chose a simple hickory stripe in indigo and natural—
a combination that feels familiar, yet one we had never made before.
Once you slip it on,
you’ll quickly realize how remarkably resistant hickory is to showing dirt,
and just how dependable it can be in everyday wear.
The clean vertical stripes create a visually crisp impression,
giving the entire outfit a lighter, more balanced feel.
What was once simply a matter of necessity—
patterns and fabrics chosen to conceal stains—
has, over time, quietly become beauty.
It is in this accumulation of small coincidences,
eventually forming what we now call design,
that I believe the enduring charm of workwear truly lies.
