TCBではかねてから、
「ジーンズを売るのではなく、ジーンズがある生活を売りたい」
と話してきました。

もちろん大人になると、
買い物する瞬間そのものがストレス発散になり、
“買った後にどう使うか”が二の次になってしまうことも、正直あると思います。
私自身も、決して例外ではありません。

そんなことを考えたときに、
ふと作りたくなったのがこのマグカップでした。

忙しい人に、ほんの少しだけ
“強制的にリラックスしてもらうための”
――言い換えれば、
まさに「ジーンズではなく、生活を売る」ような商品です。

先日、専務とRYO君と夜に食事に出かけ、
帰りにコーヒーを買いながら、そんな話をしました。

21時くらいでしたが、
私は最近ようやく、
カップにコーヒーパックを引っ掛けて
ドリップするタイプのコーヒーを
自分で淹れられるようになった、という話をして。

RYO君は、
深い睡眠のために、夜はコーヒーを飲まないそうです。

専務は毎朝、
自分のお気に入りの豆を挽いて
コーヒーを淹れている。

そんな話をしているうちに、
私はジーンズとコーヒーの共通点を見つけました。
それは、
毎日関わりたくなる、
良い意味での“常習性”。

同じ「コーヒー」でも、
付き合い方やルーティンはそれぞれ違う。

だからこそ、
ジーンズを毎日着られない方にも、
こうした形でTCBを
日常に取り入れていただけたら嬉しいなと思っています。

そんな想いをそのまま形にして、

At TCB, we have long said that
we don’t want to sell jeans — we want to sell a life that has jeans in it.
Of course, as we grow older, I think it’s also true that the act of buying itself often becomes a form of stress relief, and what we do with the clothes afterward can easily become secondary.
I am no exception to that, if I’m honest.
When I found myself thinking about this, I suddenly felt like making this mug.
For busy people, a small object that almost forces them to slow down and relax —
in other words, a product that truly sells “a way of living,” not just another item.
The other night, I went out for dinner with our managing director and RYO, and on our way back we bought coffee and talked about this.
It was around 9 p.m., and I told them that I had only recently learned how to brew coffee myself using a drip bag that hooks onto the rim of a cup.
RYO said that, for the sake of deep sleep, he avoids drinking coffee at night.
Our managing director, on the other hand, grinds his favorite beans every morning and brews his own coffee.
As we talked, I realized something about the common ground between jeans and coffee.
Both have a kind of “good habit-forming” quality — something you naturally want to return to every day.
Even with the same cup of coffee, everyone has their own way of enjoying it, their own routine.
That’s why, for those who can’t wear jeans every single day, I would be happy if they could bring TCB into their daily lives in this way.
