今日、PCのメモを整理していたら、Blanket Lined Cat Head Jacketの企画途中に記してたこんな文章が出てきました。
10〜20代の頃は、将来自分で家を建てても和室は絶対に要らないと思っていました。
でも温かいお茶が少しずつ美味しく感じられるようになった頃、 時々行く和食屋さんで通される和室に、ふと
「和室は要るな」
と思うようになりました。
そんな矢先、人生で初めてコタツを買ってみたくなりました。
海外の人に「コタツ」って通じるのかなと思って “KOTATSU” と検索してみると、 Googleの画像には、幸せそうに丸くなって眠る猫の姿。
TCBjeansを始めて以来、猫に頼って企画をしてきたのに、 大事なことを一つ忘れていました。
もちろん、コタツ布団を作るわけではありませんが、 猫がコタツで丸くなっている時のあの安心した気持ちを、 服で作りたい。
着たら、つい抜け出せなくなるジャケット。
1年ぶりに作る、Blanket Lined Cat Head Jacket。
そう 企画段階では Cat Head Cozy JK という仮の名前が付いていました。
Tシャツの上にブランケット付きのカバーオールを羽織ると、 まるで寝具の毛布に包まれているような感覚になるからです。 日本の冬のコタツを思い出して、 「コタツと猫はセットだろ」と連想が繋がりました。
最近は、フーディーを入れる日と、Tシャツだけの日を作って、 春が来るまでこの一着を育てていこうと企んでいます。

彼の力が無いと、裏付きのカバーオールなんて絶対に製品化出来ないと思います。

While organizing some old notes on my computer,
I came across a piece of writing from the early development stage of the Blanket Lined Cat Head Jacket.
In my teens and twenties, I used to think that even if I built my own house someday,
I would never need a traditional Japanese tatami room.
But as I grew older—and as warm tea slowly started tasting better—
I found myself occasionally sitting in tatami rooms at small Japanese restaurants and quietly thinking,
“Maybe a tatami room is something I do need.”
Around that time, I also had the sudden urge to buy a kotatsu for the first time in my life.
I wondered if people overseas would even understand what a kotatsu was,
so I searched for “KOTATSU” online.
The image results were filled with cats sleeping peacefully, curled up in warmth.
Since starting TCB Jeans, I’ve often relied on cats as inspiration for our projects,
yet somehow I had forgotten something very simple.
Of course, we’re not making kotatsu blankets.
But I wanted to create clothing that carries the same feeling—
that quiet sense of comfort when a cat is curled up under a kotatsu.
A jacket you naturally don’t want to take off once you put it on.
The Blanket Lined Cat Head Jacket, which we are producing again after a year,
was originally given the temporary name:
“Cat Head Cozy JK.”
Whenever I wore a blanket-lined coverall over just a T-shirt,
it felt almost like being wrapped in bedding—
a warmth that reminded me of winter in Japan.
From there, the connection became obvious:
Kotatsu and cats always belong together.
Lately, I’ve been wearing this jacket almost every day—
sometimes with a hoodie, sometimes with just a T-shirt—
planning to keep wearing and breaking it in until spring arrives.
