VintageのNew York Timesのニュースペーパーバッグから色を取って作ったN TIMES BAGにLINED Cat head JKを着た素敵な写真が届いたので紹介します。

電気工としてローカルユニオンに所属し、 街の中に張り巡らされた配線の裏側で働く日々。
彼にとって、仕事の中での楽しみのひとつは、 毎日デニムを穿いて働けることだそうです。
日本のデニムに興味を持ったのは、約20年前。
TCBのことは、Superfutureで開催されていた50’sコンテストの頃から知ってくれていて、 1920s、S40s、そして最近では1890 No.2のコンテストにも参加してくれています。
これまでにたくさんのアイテムを手にしてくれていますが、 中でも特に気に入っているのが ブランケットライニング付きのCathartt Chore Coat。
このジャケットは、ここ3年間の冬、 実際の仕事の中で着続けてくれているそうです。
決して“丁寧に扱う”ための服ではなく、 日々の仕事の中で、自然と時間が刻まれていく。
そんな穿き方をしてもらえているのが、 本当に嬉しく感じます。
「自分は猫好きだから、Two Cats Brandは自分にぴったりなんです」
そんな言葉も含めて、 デニムが彼の生活の一部になっているのが伝わってきます。
こういう形で着てもらえるのは、 作り手として本当に嬉しいです。

John lives in Brooklyn, New York,
with his wife Sara and their three cats.
He works as an electrician in a local union,
spending his days behind the walls,
running wires through the city.
One of the things he enjoys most about his job
is being able to wear denim every single day.
His interest in Japanese denim
started almost 20 years ago.
He has been following TCB
since the 50’s contest on Superfuture,
and has taken part in the 1920s, S40s,
and more recently, the 1890 No.2 contests.
Over the years,
he has collected many of our pieces,
but one of his favorites
is the blanket-lined Cathartt Chore Coat.
For the past three winters,
he has been wearing it to work.
Not something to be worn carefully,
but something that naturally takes on time
through everyday work.
Seeing our garments worn like this
truly means a lot to us.
