I’ve noticed that Kyun tends to rearrange the shop whenever he gets the chance.
He used to work on the 3rd floor,
but before I knew it, he had started rearranging his own workspace as well,
and it seems he has now moved himself down to the 2nd floor.
This might be a bit of a detour,
but I once talked with Kyun about something I call
the “Attractive Room Theory.”
You might not see it much these days,
but back in the day, magazines often featured things like
“rooms that make you more attractive.”
But honestly,
even if you change your lighting to soft ambient lamps
or buy an Eames chair,
that alone won’t suddenly make you more attractive.
You can dress better,
you can change your car,
but in the end nothing really changes
and you’re still just sleeping alone in a single bed.
What I mean is this:
guys who are actually popular
have already managed to invite someone over
before they even start creating a “cool room.”
That’s the kind of conversation guys sometimes have
while joking around.
So the real point is that
the important thing isn’t building the nest itself,
but what happens before that stage.
Of course,
even if you manage to invite someone over,
if your room is a complete mess,
there probably won’t be a second time.
And in a way,
this is actually a story about business as well.
Ideally, we would like to increase our shop staff
so we can properly assist every customer who visits.
However, lately our situation has been almost like
those one-person operations at beef bowl chains
that were talked about years ago.
There are moments when customers have to wait,
and for that I sincerely apologize.
As for me, Inoue,
my leg is slowly but surely recovering.
Whenever I’m able to stand comfortably,
I’d really like to spend more time on the shop floor again.
Thank you for your continued support.
