つるっとさんが穿き込まれたS40’s Jeansがあまりにカッコよかったので、お借りして撮影しました。
ヒゲの入り方も、入りすぎず・入らなすぎずの絶妙なバランス。
よく話題になる「洗う・洗わない問題」。
三つ子の魂百まで、ではないですが、
新品の頃は生地にまだコシがあるので、ヒゲを定着させるためにも洗いを控えめに穿く。
そして、色落ちが進み始めたら、生地全体のトーンを落とす意味でも洗いの頻度を増やす。
そんなふうに、デニムも人と同じように“フェーズごとにピッチを変えていく”のが良いのかもしれません。
人生もジーンズも、素敵な晩年を迎えるヒントになればと思います。笑

I borrowed Tsurutto-san’s well-worn S40’s Jeans for a quick shoot — they just looked too good not to.
The whiskers have that perfect balance — not too strong, not too faint.
There’s always that classic debate: to wash or not to wash.
As the saying goes, “old habits die hard,” but when denim is brand new and still has some stiffness,
it’s good to hold back on washing to let those whiskers set in nicely.
Once the fades start coming in, though, it’s time to wash a bit more often,
to even out the overall tone of the fabric and let it breathe.
Just like life itself, denim has its own phases —
and changing the rhythm at each stage might be the key to enjoying it longer.
May both your jeans and your life age beautifully. Haha.
