ジーンズの縫製工場というと、どこに行っても社長とは別に女性のボス的な存在がいるのが通例。
昔の言葉でいう「お局さん」的なポジションですね。
TCBは児島でも珍しく男性でミシンを踏むスタッフが多いため、実はこれまでそうした存在がいませんでした。
そんな中、今年4月に入社したSさんには、まさにその役割をお願いしています。
工場長は縫製工場を転々としてきたわけではないので、他社の事情を知らないという弱みもあります。
だからこそ20年以上のキャリアを持つSさんに、同じ目線で相談できるのはとても心強いようで、これからどんどん口出ししてくれることを期待しています。
先日ランチに誘ったときはまだ遠慮が見えましたが、半年も経てば工場内のみんなのお母さん的存在になってくれるのでは、と願っています（笑）。
そして同じく4月入社の広瀬キュンも大活躍中！

When it comes to denim sewing factories, it’s quite common to see, apart from the president, a kind of female boss figure.
In older terms, you might call her the “okotsuka-san” — the trusted veteran who keeps things in order.
At TCB, however, we’re unusual in Kojima in that most of our sewing staff are men, so we’ve never really had someone in that role.
That’s why, when Ms. S joined us this April, I asked her to step into exactly that position.
Our factory manager hasn’t moved around between sewing factories, which means he doesn’t have much insight into how other factories work.
That’s precisely why having someone like Ms. S, with more than 20 years of experience, to consult with on the same level is incredibly reassuring. I’m really looking forward to her speaking up more and more.
When I invited her to lunch the other day, I could still sense a bit of hesitation, but I hope that after six months she’ll naturally grow into the role of being “everyone’s mom” at the factory (laughs).
And speaking of newcomers, Hirose-kyun, who also joined us in April, has been doing a fantastic job too!
