この度、

5年間作り続けてきた S40’s Jacket を

リニューアルすることにしました。

当時のムードとしては、

ヴィンテージを参考にしながらも、

着丈の短さやアームホールの太さを

少しすっきりさせることで、

“着用しやすさ”を提案する、というものでした。

ただ、時を経て、

改めてヴィンテージと向き合う中で、

同じシルエットで S40’s を作りたい

と思うようになりました。

新しいS40’sは

着丈や身幅、袖の角度を全てVintageと同様にしました。

生地はそのままなのでS40’sJeansをお持ちの方はそのままセットアップで着用

して頂けます。

もちろん、

これまでのシルエットが良かった、

と言ってくれる方もいれば、

「待ってました！」と

言ってくれる方もいると思います。

野球で言えば、

ホームランは誰が見ても

100％ホームランです。

でも、

洋服作りの面白さの一つは、

ホームランと三振の境界線が、

必ずしもはっきりしていないところ。

だからこそ、

これからも僕たちは、

自分たちが思う“最高のストライクボール”を、

しっかり投げ込み続けること

がTCBの存在意義

大切だと思っています。
We have decided to renew the S40’s Jacket,
which we have been making continuously for the past five years.
At the time, our approach was to take inspiration from vintage pieces,
while slightly refining elements such as the shorter body length and wider armholes,
in order to propose a jacket that was easier to wear in everyday life.
Over time, however,
as we continued to look more closely at vintage garments,
we found ourselves wanting to recreate the S40’s
with the same silhouette as the originals.
For the new S40’s,
the body length, width, and sleeve angles have all been adjusted
to match the vintage specifications.
The fabric itself remains unchanged,
so those who already own a pair of S40’s Jeans
can continue to wear them together as a set.
Of course,
there will be those who preferred the previous silhouette,
and others who may say, “I’ve been waiting for this.”
In baseball terms,
a home run is a home run—
everyone can recognize it instantly.
But one of the true appeals of making clothing
is that the line between a home run and a strikeout
is not always so clearly defined.
That is precisely why
we believe it is important to keep throwing
what we consider to be our best strike
with sincerity and conviction.
That, to us,
is the very reason TCB exists.
