背中を介して左右に貫通したハーフムーンポケット。
デザインとしての美しさはもちろん、 「持たずに運ぶ」という機能美も含めて、 やっぱりこのベストは、何度見ても惚れ直します。
1年ぶりに、生地を変えて再生産しました。
きっかけは、去年の常夏の国への出張。
ホテルのカードキー、フライトパス、パスポート。 とにかく、しょっちゅう何かを無くしていました。
「これはもう、バッグを持たずに全部“着たい”な」
と思ったのが、 この Hutsman Vest を着るようになった理由です。
昔は、 “ベストはシャツの上に着るもの” そんな固定概念が、どこかにありました。
でも最近は、 Sweat や Hoodie の上に羽織って使うのが、 意外とかわいくて、しかもすごくしっくりくる。
今回の生地は、ブラウンのヘリンボン。 ありそうで、意外と無い、ネップ感のあるヘリンボンです。
クラシックだけど、どこか少し可愛い。
そのバランスが、Sweat に合わせるのを より楽しくしてくれる生地感だと思っています。

※今年もまた、常夏への出張が入りそうなので、 Payチャンネルのカードだけは、 もう二度と無くさないように、 この Vest を着て挑もうと思っています。

Every time I look at this vest, I fall in love with it all over again.
After a year, we reproduced it with a new fabric.
The reason goes back to a business trip to a tropical country last year.
Hotel key cards, boarding passes, passports —
I was constantly losing something.
That was when I thought,
“I want to wear everything I need, instead of carrying a bag.”
That’s how I started wearing the Hutsman Vest.
I used to have this fixed idea that
“a vest is something you wear over a shirt.”
But recently,
I’ve found that wearing it over sweatshirts and hoodies
feels surprisingly cute — and also just right.
This time, the fabric is a brown herringbone.
It’s a nep-textured herringbone that seems common,
but is actually quite rare.
Classic, yet somehow a little soft and charming.
That balance makes it even more fun to pair with sweatshirts.
It looks like I’ll be traveling to tropical places again this year,
so I’m determined not to lose my Pay Channel card ever again —
I’ll be taking on those trips wearing this vest.
