ここ最近、
新しい商品の紹介ばかりを書いていた自分のBlogを、
正月にふと読み返して、少し反省しました。
TCBの仕事には、
実はずっと大事にしている考え方があります。
それが——
**『0と10の法則』**です。
「0」というのは、デニムが生まれる段階。
つまり、制作過程のことを指しています。
どんな人が、どんな場所で作っているのか。
原綿のこと、生地のこと、
若手がミシンに向き合う姿のこと。
そして、商品として完成した段階が「1」。
店頭に並び、
誰かの手に渡る準備が整った状態です。
そこから、
デニムは“使われる時間”に入っていきます。
穿かれ、洗われ、
働き、暮らしの中に溶け込み、
少しずつ色を変え、表情を変えながら、
着る人の相棒になっていく。
この 2〜9の長い時間 を経て、
色味や風合いに、その人の時間や仕事の癖、
暮らしのリズムまでもが刻まれ、
デニムが“物”から“相棒”になる。
それが、TCBが一番理想としている
**『10の段階』**です。
『0の段階』
デニムを作っている段階。

『1の段階』
商品が完成した段階。
オンラインショップの販売商品として掲載。
『2〜9の段階』
お客様に、長い年月をかけて使い込んでいただく時間。
『10の段階』
色味や“味”といったused感が生まれ、
相棒として完成する時間。

お客さまにも、
このステップそのものを楽しんでいただけたら。
そんな気持ちで、TCBの服を作っています。
最近のBlogを振り返ると、
どうしても「1」の話ばかりになっていました。
そんなことを正月に反省していると、
Instagram に、とても素敵な S40’s JK の写真が投稿されました。
ベトナム・ホーチミンで、
ガスステーションの仕事の際に毎日着てくださっているそうです。
2年間の着用。
洗濯は半年に一度。
湿度の高い国ならではの、
激しいヒゲとコントラストの強い色落ち。
インドネシアやタイのデニムヘッズの方たちにも共通する、
とても美しい表情でした。
「何か一言ください」とお願いすると、
返ってきた言葉はこうでした。
これは「仕事にも人生にも」欠かせない、
自分の最高のデニムジャケットだ。
新年早々、
もう一度 “0” と “2〜10” を大切にしていこう。
そう思わせてくれる、
とても素敵なポストでした。
今年は、
生産者ならではの「0」と、
可愛がっていただいている「2〜10」を、
もっともっと紹介していきたいと思っています。

Recently,
I looked back at my own blog posts and realized something.
I had been writing mostly about new product releases.
And during the New Year, I caught myself thinking —
maybe I had leaned a little too far in that direction.
Because in TCB’s work,
there is a way of thinking that we have always valued.
We call it:
The “0 to 10 Rule.”
“0” is the moment denim is born.
It represents the making process itself.
Who makes it,
where it is made,
the cotton, the fabric,
and the young staff concentrating in front of sewing machines.
When a product is completed, it becomes “1.”
That is the moment it stands in the shop,
ready to be passed into someone’s hands.
From there,
denim enters the time of being used.
Worn, washed,
worked in, and lived in.
Slowly changing color,
slowly changing expression,
until it becomes a true companion to its owner.
Through the long journey of stages 2 to 9,
the wearer’s time, habits, work, and lifestyle
are carved into the fabric.
And when denim transforms from “an object”
into “a partner,”
that is the stage we value the most —
Stage 10.

not just the moment of purchase.
Looking back,
I realized that my recent blog posts
had been talking mostly about “Stage 1.”
Then, during the New Year,
I saw a beautiful post on Instagram —
an S40’s Jacket worn daily at a gas station in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam.
Two years of wear.
Washed once every six months.
Deep whiskers and strong contrast —
a kind of fading unique to humid countries.
A look also shared by denim heads in Indonesia and Thailand.
When I asked for a few words,
this was the message I received:
“This is my greatest denim jacket —
for both my work and my life.”
It was a post that reminded me,
right at the beginning of the year,
to cherish Stage 0 and Stages 2 to 10 again.
This year,
I want to share more of the making,
and more of the garments that are being truly loved and lived in.
