2年ぶりに、大塚製薬さんのスキンケアブランド『UL・OS』の特設ページにて、再びお肌について語らせていただきました。
2年前に最初のオファーをいただいた時は、
「普段ほとんどスキンケアをしていない自分が受けていいのだろうか？」と正直迷いました。
でも、初回の対談で面白いなと感じたのが——
“シワ”や“シミ”という同じ言葉でも、肌とジーンズではまったく意味が違うということ。
ジーンズ好きの人にとって、ヒゲという“シワ”は日々の積み重ねの証であり、
“味”を育てるポジティブな言葉。
一方、スキンケアの世界ではシワは避けたいものとして語られます。
でも、「育てる」「付き合う」というマインドで捉え直すと、
どちらも“自分らしく、時間をかけて変化を楽しむもの”なんですよね。
デニムやレザーを育てるのが好きな人は、
きっと自分の肌をケアすることも楽しめるはず。

After two years, I once again had the opportunity to talk about skincare on the special feature page for UL・OS, the skincare brand by Otsuka Pharmaceutical.
When I first received the offer two years ago, I honestly wondered,
“Is it really right for someone like me, who hardly ever does skincare, to accept this?”
But during that first conversation, I realized something interesting —
even though we use the same words like “wrinkles” or “spots,”
they mean completely different things when we talk about skin and jeans.
For denim lovers, the “creases” or “whiskers” that form over time are a positive thing —
they’re proof of daily life and the beauty of aging.
In skincare, though, wrinkles are often seen as something to avoid.
But when you think with the same mindset of “nurturing” or “building a relationship,”
both are really about enjoying change over time in your own way.
If you love nurturing your denim or leather pieces,
I believe you’ll also enjoy taking care of your own skin.
So please, give it a try.
As I mentioned in the interview,
for people around our age, taking that first step can feel a bit heavy.
But it might be nice to start when a woman gifts it to you.
If this interview can become that kind of opportunity, I’d be truly happy.
