私の大好きなレンズ、Noctilux。
ラテン語で「夜の光」という意味を持ちます。
暗闇の中でも、ローソク一本の光さえあれば美しく撮れる、幻想的なレンズです。
ただ、暗闇といえば——BKBKデニムもカメラ的には“真っ暗闇”と同じ扱いになることが多く、実は撮影がなかなか難しい。
（黒猫を撮るのと同じようなものです、笑）
そんなBKBKのLate S40’s JKを、最近はほぼ毎日着用しています。
自分でもBKBKの色落ちサンプルを作りたいなと思っていたのですが、先日、常連のお客さんがいい具合に色落ちしたS40’s JKを着て来られていたので、今回はその姿をご紹介します。
もちろん撮影は、私の愛機Noctiluxで。
レンズを通して見たそのBKBKは、まるで夜明け前の黒のように深く、どこか温かみのある色落ちに育っていました。
インディゴ以上にコントラストが際立ち、迫力のある表情。
Crawling PTと合わせたスタイルも、インディゴとはまた違う印象で、どこか大人っぽく上品です。
最近は自分自身のBKBKのセットアップも、どんな風に育っていくのかますます楽しみになっています。
My favorite lens, the Noctilux.
Its name comes from Latin, meaning “light of the night.”
Even in complete darkness, with only the faint glow of a single candle, it can capture a scene beautifully — a truly magical lens.
Speaking of darkness — photographing BKBK denim can feel much the same.
For a camera, it’s practically “pitch black,” which makes it quite a challenge to shoot.
(It’s a bit like trying to photograph a black cat, haha.)
Lately, I’ve been wearing my Late S40’s JK in BKBK almost every day.
I’ve been wanting to create my own sample of how the color fades over time,
but just the other day, a longtime customer visited wearing his S40’s JK —
and it had faded beautifully.
So, I decided to capture that look this time.
Of course, I shot it with my beloved Noctilux.
Through the lens, the BKBK appeared like the darkness just before dawn —
deep, yet somehow warm.
The contrast stood out even more vividly than indigo, giving it a bold, powerful presence.
Paired with Crawling PT, the outfit had a different kind of sophistication —
a more refined, mature impression than indigo.
Now I’m even more excited to see how my own BKBK setup will age and evolve over time.
