こちらも10年以上作り続けている、エプロン付きのオーバーオール「HANDYMAN」DENIM Ver.の再生産が完了しました。

このオーバーオールのサンプルを準備しているとき、「名前をどうしようか」と悩んでいたところ、自宅近所のカフェの本棚でふと目に留まった、古いSEARSの手描きカタログにヒントがありました。

そこには、Handymanというキャプションと共に両手に工具を持って日曜大工をしている男性が、エプロン付きのオーバーオールを着ている姿が描かれていました。調べてみると「HANDYMAN」とは、家や庭の修理、ちょっとした雑用など、幅広くこなす便利屋のような人のこと。

まさに、このアイテムの実用性と雰囲気にぴったりだと感じて、そのまま名前にしました。

エプロン部分の4つのポケットはとても使い勝手がよく、偶然訪れたお菓子屋さんの店主がこのオーバーオールを愛用してくださっていたこともあり、今では様々な職業の方々にとっての“ワークウェア”として育ってくれていることを、とても嬉しく思っています。
We’ve just completed a restock of the apron-style overalls, “HANDYMAN” DENIM Ver., which we’ve been producing for over 10 years now.

When we were preparing the sample for these overalls, I was wondering what to name them. One day, at a café near my house, I came across an old hand-drawn SEARS catalog on a bookshelf. In it, I found the inspiration I was looking for.

There was an illustration of a man doing some DIY work, holding tools in both hands, wearing apron-front overalls with the caption “Handyman.”
When I looked up the word, I learned that a handyman is someone who takes on all sorts of odd jobs—fixing things around the house or garden, small repairs, and maintenance.

It felt like the perfect name to represent the practicality and vibe of this item, so I decided to go with it.

The four pockets on the apron are incredibly functional, and I was thrilled to see that even the owner of a sweets shop I happened to visit was wearing these overalls.
It’s been a joy to see this piece evolve into workwear embraced by people in all kinds of professions.
