久しぶりに復活させた Cats Drive。
正直、この季節ということもあり、少し心配していました。
デニムジャケットを着るには、決して分かりやすい時期ではありません。
それでも蓋を開けてみると、ありがたいことに大好評。
今日現在で、Jacket はすでに 34、36、40 が売り切れとなりました。
本当に嬉しい限りです。
ただ、最近の岡山の生産背景を見ていると、以前のように
「また作ればいい」
と簡単に言えない状況になってきています。
生地の生産枠を確保すること自体が難しくなっていて、
その中でも Cats Drive のように、力織機の設定が必要になる左綾の生地となると、定期的に作り続けるのは簡単ではありません。
少し生々しい話をすると、
新規で生地のオーダーをお願いしに行った時に、
「今からだと2030年以降になります」
という返事が返ってくることも珍しくありません。
もちろん、必要以上に焦らせるようなセールストークを書きたいわけではありません。
ただ、3年ぶりに作ることができた Cats Drive も、次のロットがまた3年以上先になる可能性は十分にあります。
左綾のデニムが気になっていた方。
Cats Drive を待ってくださっていた方。

ちなみに今日の写真では、Vintage の 50’s Lee のパンツに Cats Drive Jacket を合わせてみました。
Jacket が穿き込まれて、いつかこの Vintage のパンツと同じくらいの色になった時、どんな雰囲気になるのか。
違和感なく並ぶのか。
それとも、TCBらしい少し違う表情になるのか。
そんな答え合わせも、これから楽しみにしています。
Cats Drive has returned after quite a long time.
To be honest, I was a little worried, especially considering the season.
It is not exactly the easiest time of year to convince people to wear a denim jacket.
But once we opened the lid, we were very happy to see such a great response.
As of today, the Jacket is already sold out in sizes 34, 36, and 40.
We are truly grateful.
That said, looking at the current production situation here in Okayama, it is becoming harder and harder to simply say,
“We can always make it again.”
Securing production slots for fabric itself has become difficult.
And when it comes to a fabric like Cats Drive, a left-hand twill that requires specific settings on the shuttle loom, it is not something we can produce regularly or easily.
To be a little honest about the reality behind the scenes,
when we visit a fabric mill to place a new order, it is no longer unusual to hear something like,
“If we start now, it will be after 2030.”
Of course, I am not trying to write some kind of sales pitch that pushes people unnecessarily.
But the truth is, even though we were finally able to make Cats Drive again after three years, there is a real possibility that the next lot may take another three years or more.

By the way, in today’s photos, I wore the Cats Drive Jacket with a pair of vintage 1950s Lee jeans.
When the Jacket is worn in and eventually reaches a color close to these vintage jeans, I wonder what kind of atmosphere it will have.
Will they sit together naturally?
Or will it develop into something slightly different, with its own TCB character?
I am looking forward to finding out the answer over time.
