補充が完了した 50’s Jacket。
1st Typeと比べると、 ポケットの数が増えているのはもちろんですが、 個人的に面白いと思うのは、腕の付き方です。
平面的というより、少し立体的に身体に沿うような作り。
袖を通した時に、ただ形が違うだけではなく、 “着て動くための服”として進化しているのを感じます。
そして、着用していて改めて良いなと思うのがカフスのボタン位置。
袖口の外側にボタンが付いていることで、 留め外しがしやすいのはもちろん、 PCを触っていてもボタンが机に当たりにくい。
当時で言えば、きっと道具を持ったり、机に向かったり、 何かしらの作業をする中で、この位置が邪魔にならなかったんだと思います。
ただのデザインではなく、 作業着として好評だった理由が、 着てみると少し分かる気がします。
The 50’s Jacket has been restocked.
Compared to the 1st Type,
the number of pockets is of course different,
but what I personally find interesting is the way the sleeves are set.
Rather than being flat,
the jacket has a slightly more three-dimensional construction that follows the body.
When you put it on,
you can feel that it is not simply a different shape,
but a piece of clothing that has evolved to be worn and moved in.
Another detail I’ve come to appreciate again while wearing it is the position of the cuff button.
Because the button is placed on the outside of the cuff,
it is easy to fasten and unfasten,
and it also doesn’t get in the way when I’m working on a computer.
Back then, I imagine this detail would have been just as useful
when holding tools, working at a desk,
or doing some kind of hands-on work.
It is not just a design detail.
When you actually wear it,
you can understand a little why it must have been well received as workwear.
