1930年代の、胸ポケットが左右非対称で “too much” なカバーオールが大好きな私にとって、
大戦モデルのカバーオールというと、腰ポケットが2つだけの簡素な仕様を思い浮かべてしまい、どこか物足りないイメージを持っていました。
でも、この大戦モデルは少し違いました。
4つポケットに、4つボタン。
巻き縫いもトリプルステッチではなく、ダブルステッチ。
その少し力の抜けた仕様が、逆にとても新鮮に映ります。
正式名称までは分からないのですが、ダブルライダースのような、風防にも見える少し重なり合う前合わせ。
個人的にはこのディテールがとても好きで、ボタンを一番上まで留めて着用したいなと考えています。

As someone who loves 1930s coveralls with asymmetrical chest pockets and a slightly “too much” feel, I had always imagined TYPE WW2 coveralls as being very simple, with only two waist pockets, and to be honest, I always found them a little lacking.
But this TYPE WW2 model is a little different.
Four pockets and four buttons.
The seams are finished with double stitching instead of triple stitching.
That slightly stripped-back construction feels surprisingly fresh to me.
I’m not sure of the proper name for this detail, but the front overlaps slightly, almost like a double riders jacket or a storm flap.
Personally, I really love this feature, and I can already imagine wearing it buttoned all the way up to the top.
