先日の話になりますが、TCB 50’s JKを着用して全国ツアーを敢行中のHEATWAVE 山口洋さんのライブが岡山で開催されたので、お邪魔してきました。
当日は許可をいただき、撮影もさせていただいております。
綿が糸になり、生地になり、裁断され、縫い合わされ、服という立体になる。
そして今度はそれが誰かに着用され、ステージの上でライトを浴びながら動いている。
その姿を見ていると、とても感慨深いものがありました。
布という二次元に、息が吹き込まれるような感覚。
きっと音楽も、何気ない日常を書き留めるところから始まり、言葉が詩になり、メロディが乗り、歌になり、誰かの耳に届いていく。
とても烏滸がましい思いではありますが、ライブ中は勝手にセッションさせていただいているような気持ちになり、楽しい時間を過ごすことができました。
TCB jeansは、ただ服を作る会社でも、ただ服を売る会社でもなく、
服がある生活を作り、それを届けている会社でありたいと思っています。
ライブ会場にはTCBを着用してくださっている方もいて、声を掛けていただく場面もありました。
ライブに行くことで、「また明日から頑張ろう」と思える。
そんな非日常の時間を、TCBの服が少しでも彩れていたなら、これほど嬉しいことはありません。
そして、そのステージに立つ山口さんの衣装としてTCBを選んでいただけていることも、作り手冥利に尽きます。
山口さん、ありがとうございました。

This is from the other day, but I went to see the HEATWAVE live show in Okayama, where Hiroshi Yamaguchi is currently on a nationwide tour wearing a TCB 50’s JK.
On the day of the show, I was kindly given permission to take photographs.
Cotton becomes yarn, yarn becomes fabric, the fabric is cut, sewn together, and eventually takes shape as a three-dimensional garment.
Then, that garment is worn by someone, moving under the stage lights.
Seeing that scene was deeply moving.
It felt as if breath had been given to a two-dimensional piece of cloth.
Perhaps music is the same.
It begins by writing down ordinary moments from everyday life.
Those words become poetry, a melody is added, they become lyrics, and eventually they reach someone’s ears.
It may be terribly presumptuous of me to say this, but during the live show, I felt as though I was somehow taking part in a session with him, and I had a truly wonderful time.
TCB jeans is not simply a company that makes clothes, nor simply a company that sells clothes.
We want to be a company that creates and delivers a life with clothes in it.
There were also people at the venue wearing TCB, and some of them kindly came up and spoke to me.
Going to a live show can make you feel, “I’ll do my best again from tomorrow.”
If TCB clothes were able to add even a little color to that extraordinary moment, nothing would make me happier.
And the fact that TCB was chosen as the stage outfit for Mr. Yamaguchi, standing there on stage, is truly one of the greatest joys as a maker.
