可愛いけど、誰も教えてくれない。
かつてウォッチポケットと呼ばれていた小さなポケットは、
時代と共にコインポケットに変わり、
そして世界一の経営者が “iPodを入れるポケット” と再定義した。
でも、その定義さえ、今となってはもうアナログな話になってしまったけど……。
SHOPコートの、あの貫通しているアクセスポケットが大好きです。
“何を入れる”のではなく、“何かに繋がる”ポケット。
初めて海外に行った時、
「内ポケットに手を入れるときは、大げさに“銃を持っていない”ことをアピールしないとダメだよ」
と注意されたことがあります。
ポケットの向こう側が、ピースサインになってたら良いな。

It’s cute, but no one ever really tells you why.
That small pocket once called a watch pocket eventually became a coin pocket,
and later, the world’s most famous CEO redefined it as a pocket for an iPod.
But even that definition feels almost analog now, doesn’t it?
What I love most about the SHOP COAT is its through-access pocket.
It’s not about what you put in it, but what it connects to.
When I first traveled abroad, I was told,
“When you reach into your inner pocket, make sure to exaggerate the gesture —
so they know you’re not carrying a gun.”
I like to think that on the other side of the pocket,
someone’s making a peace sign. ✌️
