いつもVintageの提供でお世話になっている ‘n’_clothing_store の古泉さん と一緒に、 この度 DENIM BLOUSES を製作させていただきました。 時代は100年前、1925年。
VINTAGEからANTIQUEへと移り変わる節目の年に生まれた一着をオマージュのベースとしながら、 単なるREPLICAではなく、自分の中で再解釈し、 “オリジナルブランドへの敬意を持ちながらも、現代に機能するBLOUSE” を目指しました。
100年前の空気を感じつつ、タイムレスに着られる1着に仕上げています。
■ ダウンポケットから始まったBlouse 一度着てみると、左胸のポケットの使いやすさに驚くと思います。
「なぜこの位置から高くなっていったんだろう？」と考えていた時に思い出したのが、 当時の広告に書かれていた “Rider Jacket” の文字でした。
きっと、馬に乗った時のライディングポジションでも使いやすいよう、 ポケット位置が高くなっていったのだと思います。
ただ、実際の使いやすさは断然ダウンポケット。
この考察は私・井上の妄想ですが、 ぜひ手に取って「本当だ！」と思っていただけたら嬉しいです。
クアントマガジンを読みながら古着を漁っていた10代の頃、 古泉さんと私は同じように“衝撃”を受けた世代です。
今度は、あの頃の自分たちのように、 少しでも誰かにその衝撃を伝えられる側に回れたら本望です。

DENIM BLOUSES
Together with Koizumi-san from ‘n’_clothing_store, who has always been a great supporter providing us with beautiful vintage pieces,
we’ve created a new DENIM BLOUSE.
The year is 1925 — exactly a century ago, a turning point when VINTAGE was beginning to shift into ANTIQUE.
While taking inspiration from a piece born in that era,
our aim wasn’t to make a simple replica, but to reinterpret it in our own way —
creating a functional blouse that honors the original brand while living in the present.
It’s a garment that lets you feel the air of 100 years ago, yet can be worn timelessly today.
■ The Blouse That Started with a Down Pocket
Once you try it on, you’ll be surprised by how practical the left chest pocket feels.
I began to wonder, “Why did pocket placements gradually move higher over time?”
Then I remembered old advertisements with the words “Rider Jacket.”
Perhaps the pocket position evolved to stay functional when taking a riding posture on horseback.
That may be the reason—but in terms of pure usability, the down pocket wins hands down.
This is just my own imagination, but I’d be delighted if you picked it up and thought, “He’s right!”
Back in our teenage years, Koizumi-san and I used to dig through vintage clothes,
flipping through the pages of Quant Magazine and feeling that same sense of shock and wonder.
Now, if we can pass even a small piece of that inspiration to someone else,
we’d consider it an honor.
