いつも専務と一緒に糸帳をめくりながら、
「この生地にはこの色かな？」
「いや、あえてミスマッチ感を出してみようか」
なんて言い合いながら決めていきます。

糸帳は、実際に使う生地をその場で当てて色を確認できるように工夫されていて、ページが可動式になっているのも便利なポイント。

Matching it perfectly isn’t always the right answer.
Sometimes, shifting the color just a little brings out unexpected character and charm.

I always go through the thread books with our executive director,
saying things like,
“Does this color go with this fabric?”
or
“How about we go for a deliberate mismatch this time?”

These thread books are cleverly designed—you can place the actual fabric swatches right up against them, and the pages are movable, which makes color matching a lot easier.

Just one thread color can completely change the look of a pair of jeans.
That’s why we agonize over it… but in the end, it’s a process we truly enjoy.
