TCBとして505を作ったのっていつだっけ？ってTCB Blogを遡って調べると今年で10周年
時の流れは驚くほど早いものです。
2015年の発表時に説明した505の帯の生地の話。
vintageの505が耳を使われてるから狭幅の78cm幅の生地だからウエスト78センチ以上のサイズにはどの様に作ってるの？という疑問から始まったTCBの2つの生地を使ったジーンズ。

きっと私が痩せててウエストが小さかったらこんな不思議な発見なんて無かったよなって思うと面白い。
10年も経てば良い色落ちサンプルなんかも里帰りで帰ってきてくれて狙ってた通りの色に育っててくれて一安心。

505はファスナーを使うために生地を防縮加工のサンフォライズ加工しています。
50’sと違って脇の捩れも無いのと若干耳のアタリも上品になるのが特徴です。

膝より下がテーパードしてどんな服装にも合わせやすく、青味の強い生地の色が意外とどんな服装にも合わせやすいんだと思います。

When did we start making the 505 at TCB again?
As I scrolled through old blog posts to find out, I realized—this year marks the 10th anniversary.
Time really does fly.

Here’s the blog post from 2015 where we talked about the waistband fabric used in our 505.
Our 505 jeans started from a simple question:
Vintage 505s use selvedge denim, which is typically 78cm wide.
So how did they make sizes larger than 78cm in the waist?
That question led us to develop our own solution—TCB’s unique two-fabric construction.

It’s funny to think:
If I had been skinnier back then, I might have never noticed this detail or asked that question.
Ten years later, some well-worn pairs have returned home.
The fades turned out just the way we’d envisioned, and that’s such a relief.

We lined up a sample of the 505 next to a similarly faded pair of 50’s jeans for a comparison shoot.
The 505 uses sanforized fabric to accommodate the zipper fly,
so unlike the 50’s model, it doesn’t have the signature side seam twist.
The selvedge lines on the 505 also come out looking a bit more refined and clean.

Ryo proudly says it’s one of TCB’s “hidden gem” models.
The tapered leg from the knee down makes it easy to wear with just about anything,
and the blue cast of the fabric surprisingly works well with a wide range of styles.
