この年齢になって自身のSNSで書く事じゃ無いんですが4.9は私の誕生日。
日本では４と９という数字は不吉な番号とされてるイメージが多いですよね。
以前車を購入の際に担当の営業マンに
『ナンバープレートの番号は４と９は避けて取りますか？誕生日なんかにしても良いですね』
って言われて苦笑いした事が有ります。
でも実はアメリカに行くと1849年のカリフォルニア・ゴールドラッシュの49ersの歴史を辿りジーンズが好きな私に取っては49番という数字はとても大好きな数字となりました。
そんな4.9に45歳になった私。
45歳といえば10代の頃に私にジーンズ作りとPCを無料でプレゼントしてまでインターネットを教えてくれた知る人ぞ知る空中ジーンズ工場の師匠の何気ない一言を思い出します。
当時98年インターネットがまだ一般的に普及する前にインターネット上でジーンズを作り販売する事に成功し、東京のデベロッパーから沢山の出店オファーが届いてるのを私は近い距離で見てました。

『縫製工場から始まり、まだ自分たちは大海原に出たばかりだからね、出店要請はありがたいけど、もう45歳だしね….』
結局当時の師匠の判断としては出店は断念という判断。
でも当時10代だった私は、
『自分は45歳に何をしてるかな』
と将来を重ねた事を覚えています。
師匠のあの時の出店断念という判断が後悔してるのかどうかは分かりませんが、
あのインターネット上で服を売るという世界の夜明け前に子供ながらに近くで空気を吸えた事には感謝してます。
沢山の判断に後悔しない様に良い45歳にしたいと願うばかりです。

I’m not sure if I should be writing this on social media at my age, but 9th April is my birthday.
In Japan, the numbers 4 and 9 are often thought of as unlucky numbers, meaning a death & a hardship.
When I was buying a car, the salesman in charge said to me, “Would you like to avoid 4 and 9 for your license plate number? Some people have their birthdays for the numer. ” Hearing his suggestion, I had to put a bitter smile on.

But actually, when I went to America, I traced the history of the 49ers during the California Gold Rush in 1849, and as a jeans lover, the number 4 & 9 became my favorite number. And so I turned to 45 on 4.9. Speaking of turning 45, I remember a casual comment made by my master at the Sky Jeans Factory, who is known only to a few people and who taught me how to make jeans and the Internet when I was a teenager, even giving me a free PC. At that time, in 1998, before the Internet was widely used, he succeeded in making and selling jeans on the Internet, and I saw from close range that he received many offers to open stores from developers in Tokyo.
In the end, my master decided not to open a store, saying we started out as a sewing factory, and we’ve only just set out on the open sea, so we appreciate the requests to open a store, but I’m 45 and a bit too old to dive into a whole new journey.”

But I was a teenager at the time, and I remember thinking,
“What will I be doing at 45?” I don’t know if my master regrets his decision to give up on opening a store,but I’m grateful that I was able to breathe the air and to share the good time with him nearby before the dawn of the world of selling clothes on the Internet.

I just hope to have a good 45 years old so that I don’t regret many decisions.
I would like to embody my favorite phrase,
“Connecting the dots,” while growing the Late S40’s I’m wearing today.
