通称モンキーパンツの3つのポケットは、決して使い勝手が良いとは言えないけれど、それがまた魅力的なCrawling Pants。
ヴィンテージのモンキーパンツを参考に、再現して作りました。
参考にしたvintageの特徴として、当時のコントラクターの特徴でしょうか？通常であればチェーンステッチを使いそうな箇所でもシングルステッチや折り伏せ縫いで縫われています。
もしかしたら綺麗めなシャツやトラウザーを縫ってた会社が作ったのかな？と想像するのもミリタリーならでわです。

特徴的な3つのポケットが愛嬌たっぷりで、無骨さの中にもどこか可愛らしさを感じさせるデザイン。
もともとは海兵隊が匍匐前進をしやすいように考案されたディテールで、実用性のための形が、今では「デザイン」として魅力を放つ──それがミリタリーウェアの面白さだと思います。

洗い込んでいくうちに、ヘリンボーンの織り柄が際立ち、立体的な表情が生まれてくるのもこの生地ならではの楽しみ。

ラッカー塗装のボタンも、時間が経つほどに塗装が剥がれ、地金が顔を出していきます。
ジーンズとは違い、この生地は穿くたびに洗って”白け”させるのが個人的な楽しみ方。

気づけば、すでにサイズ欠けが出始めています。
この春夏に穿きたい方は、お早めに。
The three pockets on these so-called Monkey Pants aren’t exactly practical—but that’s what makes the Crawling Pants so charming.
Inspired by vintage monkey pants, we’ve carefully recreated them with a faithful attention to detail.

One interesting characteristic we found in the vintage pair we referenced is its sewing construction.
Unlike typical military garments that use chain stitching in key areas, this pair features single stitching and flat-felled seams instead.
Perhaps the contractor who made them was originally producing dress shirts or trousers?
Imagining such details is one of the unique joys of vintage military wear.

The three distinct pockets give these pants a rugged yet endearing look.
Originally designed to help Marines crawl more easily, what was once purely functional now stands out as a unique design element—one of the great things about military clothing.

With wear and washing, the herringbone weave becomes more pronounced, adding a beautiful depth to the fabric.
Over time, the lacquered buttons will chip and reveal the raw metal underneath, adding to the character.
Unlike jeans, this is a fabric that I personally love to wash frequently and let fade to a softer, lighter shade.

Before we knew it, some sizes were already selling out.
