私たちにとってS40’sが「旧大戦モデル」で、LateS40’sがその「アップデート版」という意識はありません。むしろ、大戦モデルのヴィンテージジーンズには、10本集めれば10通りの個性があるという事実を伝えたかったのが一番の理由です。

そのため、これからもS40’sを作り続けたいと思っています。実際、S40’sの濃色の生地が好きというお客様も多くいらっしゃいます。

今日ご紹介するのは桐山さんのS40’s。
濃色の生地から始まる色落ちや、強撚糸ならではのシワの刻まれ方は、まさにS40’sの特徴を体現しています。

When we launched the LateS40’s, we wondered if a double standard with the S40’s would resonate with our audience.
For us, the S40’s is not simply an “old wartime model,” nor is the LateS40’s an “updated version.” What we truly wanted to convey is that, among vintage wartime models, each of the ten pairs you collect will have its own unique personality.

That’s why we believe we’ll continue making the S40’s in the future. In fact, many of our customers have expressed a strong preference for the deep indigo fabric of the S40’s.

Today, we’re featuring Kiriyama-san’s S40’s.
You’ll notice the beautiful fading that begins with its deep indigo fabric and the distinct creases that only tightly twisted yarn can create—hallmarks of the S40’s.
