My No.2 Blouse 1890

My No.2 Blouse 1890

My No.2 Blouse 1890, which I introduced the other day in a laid-flat image
When it was laid flat, the feeling that the color had started to fade in real life was not apparent, so I’m wearing it and introducing it again.

I think I’ve managed to recreate the uneven streaks on the fabric that I first felt when I saw the vintage 1890. One of the fun things about this time of year is wondering when I’ll do my first wash and completely get rid of the starch on the fabric.

We made five different types of thread, had them dyed with natural indigo, and had them woven on a vintage shuttle, which requires some difficult adjustment process because the threads are of different yarn counts. At our in-house sewing factory, we used a single-needle sewing machine, which would have been completed in one process if we had used a chain stitch machine. But that’s the way NO.2 used to be made so we gotta do all it takes to make our repro as authentic as we can. Once the current stock is sold out, these series will be discontinued so don’t miss it out.
