Now, all members of TCB, except for the managing director, were born outside of Kojima.
In the past, jeans sewing factories in Kojima were local industries, and many of them were local family businesses derived from the techniques of making school uniforms and work clothes.
In fact, I remember that when I opened a sewing factory in my 20s, I was often asked, “Is your father working at a sewing factory?” However, times have changed since then, and I personally think that the definition of local industry needs to be redefined.
The era in which local people just happened to work for their parents is over,
“Local industries from now on will be about gathering in a place and doing things that can only be made in that place.”
Of course, there are still many closed areas and industries depending on the industry, but in Kojima, there are many people who originally started living there through group employment, and I get the impression that they don’t care about outsiders.
On the contrary, I value the perspective of an outsider.
Some local companies are ashamed of being from the countryside or hiding the fact that their products are handmade. ”
I often thought that, but I think it’s great to be in a place with the sea and mountains where jeans can be made.
Well, no matter where you’re born, you should go wherever you want and do what you want.
