昨日久しぶりに着てみたS40’s
やっぱり着るとカッコいいなって思い置きの写真も撮影。
S40’sも早いもので発売から丸４年が経とうとしています。
４年の間、基本的にはフリー在庫が無く、予約で待って頂いて購入して頂くというスタイルが続いてるのは本当にありがたい限りです。
開発時、大戦時の生地は50年のXX生地に比べて極端に繊維長が短く、線のたて落ち感が有りません。
妄想ですがメインのコットンは軍服で使用するのでいつもより、綿のグレードを下げた。
綿のグレードが下がった＝繊維長が短くなるのでそれを糸にするのに結果的に強く撚糸する様になった。
それが現代の生地作りで言う所の強撚糸によるゴワゴワな生地なのかな？と解釈しています。

実は当時参考にしたVintageのS506XXとS501XXの色目よりまだ濃いので同じ色目まで着込んで一緒に写真を撮りたくなりました。

Been quite a while since the last time I wore my S40’s tux.
I haven’t worn them but indeed they look nice with awesome fade.
It’s been 4 years since the release but it’s been the most popular model for TCB and we haven’t been able to have the stocks even at our factory shop.

At the time of development, the wartime fabric had extremely short fiber length compared to the ’50 XX fabric, and there was no sense of vertical line droop.
This is just a guess, but the main cotton was used for military uniforms, so the grade of cotton was lower than usual.
Lower cotton grade = shorter fiber length, so it ended up being twisted tightly to make thread.
I interpret this as the stiff fabric made from tightly twisted yarn, which is what modern fabric making calls strong twisted yarn.

Actually, the color is still darker than the Vintage S506XX and S501XX that I used as reference at the time, so I wanted to wear it in the same color and take a photo together.
