私がViktor Fredbackを知るキッカケになった彼の本『TRUE FIT』

Viktorのコレクションが素晴らしいのはもちろんなんですが、スタイリングも全てViktor本人が監修してるらしく、サイズがバラバラのVintageの筈なのにモデルカットは全てサイズ感もバッチリでコーディネートが組まれてる事も不思議に思っていました。
そしてその本をより素晴らしい物にしてるのが写真の格好良さだと思っていました。
その事を今回の旅でViktorに直接伝えるとなんと
『カメラマンのFredrikを紹介するよ！』
との事。
一般的な写真は一期一会なのでジーンズハンティング時等の失敗が許されないロケ等ではリスクの少ない設定で撮られる事が事が多い印象ですがFredrikさんの写真はどう考えてもリスキーな設定。
それを本人に伝えると笑いながら
『もちろん沢山没写真も撮れてるよ』
って言いながら技術を惜しみなく教えてくれたのが印象的でした。
折角なのでとRyo君のS40’sJKと50’sJeansを着て頂いて撮影までさせて頂きました。
本の中で一番撮影が難しかった写真を一枚教えて欲しいとの問いに彼が選んでくれたのはViktor本人の笑顔のポートレート。
質問の答えもとてもセンスが良く、商業的に集ったチームでは無く、仲が良いからこそ完成した本なんだなと改めて思える素敵な時間でした。
出版の後もかなり評判が良く、True Fit　Vol2を作ってほしいとたくさんの声が届いたみたいですが、ViktorもFredrikもこの1冊に全てを出し尽くしたし、これ以上いいものは出来ないからと全て断ってきたそうです。

True fit is the very book that I got to know Viktor from.
Of course, his collection is just second to none but we didn’t know that all the styling on this book was directed by him. And what makes this book even better is the quality of the photos. As my hobby is photography, I have always been wondering who the photographer is but it was a good friend of Viktor, Fredrik and Viktor introduced Fredrik to us while we were in Sweden!

You have to be always ready when shooting good photos so I usually go with low-risk camera setting especially when I take pictures outside but Fredrik’s camera setting must be quite risky, which tells how good he is. But he said with a smile on his face, “of course, a lot of mistakes happened”
I asked which picture was the most difficult one to take and he told me that it was the portrait picture of Viktor himself because the two are in a really intimate relationship so it was so difficult to pull out a serious face of Viktor. Viku-chan is always smiling so no wonder why, haha. But because of the relationship between these two guys, I feel they were able to make this masterpiece book!

I dared ask Fredrik if it’s okay to take pictures of him and Viktor both in top-to-toe TCB denim and it made my day!
