2020年世界を席巻したコロナウイルス。
暗闇に光る星の如く、コロナ禍の事を無理やりポジティブに考えてました。
物理的に移動する事さえ悪だったあの時間はある意味世界を遠くした様で近くもしてくれました。
私は以前からSNSで存在を知っていたDENIM HUNTER Viktor FreadbackにDMを送りました。
『コロナ禍で海外は愚か東京にも行けなくて古着との出会いが減っている』
すると、偶然にもViktorの奥さんがTCBのSEAMENを所有してくれてたらしく
『もちろんTCBの事は知ってるよ！』
とフランクな返信。

彼がSweden在住なのに実際にアメリカに渡り150年前の炭鉱に命懸けで潜って見つけてきたスペシャルなピース。
そのピースとViktorからの声に耳を傾けてTCBで物作りさせて頂くプロジェクトが
Viktors Voiceと言うのはこのBlogを読んでくれてる方はご存知だと思います。
levisの150周年にあたる2023年、私たちはリベットに敬意を込めて天邪鬼に1873年以降リベットの商標が効いてた時代リベットを使う事が出来なかった当時のライバルのジーンズを再現しました。
そのジーンズのラベルからそのままネーミングを頂いてGood Luckという名前にしてて、そのVintageを発掘する時の密着ドキュメントが彼の映画になってるらしい？です
Good Luck Projectが完成した時に私たちは借りてたVintageの返却の準備を進めていました。
すると、いつもお茶目なジョークを言うViktorは言いました。
『Good Luckの返却はハジメ達のタイミングで良いからSweadenまで返しに来てね！』
って。
それを聞いて
話をコロナ禍に戻します。
私は口癖の様に、コロナ禍に
『コロナが終わったら会おうよ！』
という口約束を沢山結んで、叶えてないまま今日に至ります。
コロナが無かったら
『Vikrot返しには行けないよ。送るね！』
って言ってたと思うのですが、コロナ禍にフランクに返信してくれた御礼をする時が来ました。
下記の日程でRyo君とSwedenに行く事にしました。
この機会を記念して少量ですがGood Luckのセットも再生産する事にしました。
SwedenのTCB取扱店２店舗にてPOPUPも予定しています。
私もタイトスケジュールながらにもハッセルブラッドを観に行こうと企み中です笑

海外在住の日本人の方からも意外と多く注文をいただくTCBではありますが、在スウェーデンの日本人の方は一人もいらっしゃらないかもしれません。もちろんJapaneseのご来店も大歓迎です(笑)
Viktorのお家にも何日か泊めてもらいますので、インスタライブでDenim Hunterムービーの裏側的な映像がお見せできたらとも思います。

In 2020, the COVID pandemic started and we were all pretty limited in activities of daily living.
But I was always seeking for some positiveness in the adversity where we were not really allowed to go out but
In a sense, that time made the world seem far away, but it also brought it closer to me. I sent a DM to a denim hunter, Viktor Fredback, who I have known for a long time through SNS, telling him ” We can’t really go out to find good vintages and are seeking for some possibility to work with you”. Then Viktor frankly replied, “Oh my wife has your Seamens Trousers and we know you and your brand!”

Although he lives in Sweden, he actually traveled to the United States and risked his life to dive into a coal mine 150 years ago to find special pieces. With special vintage pieces and the knowledge of Viktor, we started Viktor’s Voice project, which you may know from Two Cats Blouse/Waist Overall & Good Luck series. Now you can check through some streaming services a documentary film called Denim Hunter that follows Viktor’s path to finding a super rare vintage jeans with Good Luck label! And you should check it out!

After the second Viktor’s Voice project for Good Luck series was finished, we were arranging the shipment to return the special pieces but he jokingly said to us, “You can return them when the timing meets and you come to Sweden.”

During the COVID time, I said this a lot like it’s my catch phrase, Let’s meet again after the Covid is gone.
And it’s finally about time for us to visit Viktor and appreciate his kindness in person. To commemorate TCB’s first visit to Sweden, we have done a restock for the Good Luck tux and will be doing a meet the brand event at Goteborg Manufaktur on 5th June and Second Sunrise on 10th June. It’s been almost 5 years since TCB went outside Japan or we actually did no pop up event at all even in Japan after the Covid. We can tell you whatever you want to know about the JP denim industry, vintage jeans, TCB, etc so please come to the event if you are interested!
