定期的に逢いに行く力織機
S40’sの生地を織って頂いてる職人さんに今回は新たな生地をお願いしております。
TCBでは初めて使う糸の太さなんで仕上がりが楽しみです。
耳の仕上がりも通常は綾織で、耳が立つようにいつもお願いしてて穿き込んだ時にボコボコと耳のアタリが出るように意識するんだけど、今回は元ネタのvintageを参考に耳が綾織と平織りのミックスというイレギュラーな組織を再現して頂いております。
力織機の横に貼られてる伝票を見れば何年代の生地をサンプリングして作ってるかがバレバレなんだけど,
6×6の糸番手はTCBの中で一番重たい14.1オンスになります。
実はこの生地を試行錯誤してた頃にHailMary Magazineの小野里さんからハリコシの有る少しヘビーな生地でジーンズ作りたいんだ！お題を頂き、それならばとフライングにてTWO STAR JEANSでも採用して頂きました。

I go checking the shuttle looms on a regular basis and I came to this weaving factory where our S40’s fabric is woven to check our new fabric. We’ve never adopted the threads as thick as the ones this time so I’m also excited to see how it’ll turn out.

Speaking of the selvedge part of the fabric, denim is basically a twill woven fabric and we always ask our partnered factories to have the tension at the selvedge part extra hard so that jeans will have the truck road fade at the side of jeans. But this time, the selvedge part of the jeans which we referred to for the new release has something unique there so please look forward to our new fabric.

If you look at the order slip, it’s obvious what jeans we are going to release this time but the yarn count 6 for both warps and wefts makes our fabric the heaviest than ever, 14.1 oz fabric.
