生地が織り上がって来たらまずサンプルを縫い始める前にする事が有ります。
TCBでは洗うと縮む生機デニムを使う事が多いので、まずは生地だけの状態で洗ってタテとヨコの縮率を確認します。
もちろん服の形にしてからも確認しますがパターンが引く前に事前に把握してからパターンを引いた方が私は好きですね。
結果はタテ10%　ヨコ8%
そして縮率を観ると同時に洗い上がりの生地とAmoskeagのスクラップを見ながら耳の幅を確認したり、全体のムラ糸の走り方をチェックしました。

After the weaving is completed, one thing we need to do before making the sample is to check the shrinkage rate of the fabric. Especially, TCB mainly uses unsanforized denim so that we always wash our new fabric to check the shrinkage rate both for the vertical and the lateral direction. Some people would do check it after the sample making but I prefer to know the shrinkage rate first and then make a sample.

The result was 10% on both. After the wash, the texture and the look of fabric sometimes change drastically so I also check the threads irregularity and the width of selvedge ID.
