私は少年時代を広島県福山市大門町で過ごした為、10代の頃からジーンズを作ってるらしいと噂を聞きつけては工場の人達に逢いに行ってました。

あまりにも通うもんですから、行かない日が有ると
『今日は来なかったね』
って言われるようになり、今だから話せますが
『〇〇のブランドが持ってきたvintageを観る？』
とか
『〇〇の展示会に行ってきたからノベルティあげるよ』
とか
しまいには、今度東京に出張に行くんだけど、お金出してあげるから一緒に行こうよ！』
なんて事も有りました。
Since I spent my youth days in Daimon city, Fukuyama, Hiroshima, which is close to Okayama, I often payed a visit to denim mills in the vicinity.
I actually visited them so often that they used to worry about me if I didn’t visit them for a while, haha.

People there were like, Hey Hajime. you didn’t visit us yesterday but are you feeling alright?
The more I visited them, the closer we get. Eventually, they even told me ” Hey Hajime, we have a business trip to Tokyo, why don’t you come together?”

私はあまり裕福な家庭では無かったので成人式の時、周りはスーツを仕立てたりしてたのですが、そんなお金が無く、式にも参加しなかったのですが、それを見兼ねた縫製工場の社長が成人式の日にプレゼントしてくれたデニムジャケットは今でも大切に持っています。
My family was not so rich. Although my friends were ordering tailor made suits for the coming of age ceremony, I didn’t have enough money so decided not to attend the ceremony but the owner guys of those mills gave me a denim jacket as a present, which I still cherish.

もちろん縫製工場だけでは無くシャトルの音に反応して
力織機を動かしてる人達にも逢いに行って、16歳の頃の私は当時、何処のブランドの生地という呼び方では無く誰が織った生地って言う様になってました。
（マセガキというより痛い）
So when I was 16, I was not even talking about which brand makes the best fabric but about who and what mill can make the best fabric.

そんな経験が有り
与えて頂いた経験は与えれる様になりたいと思いTCBもオープンファクトリーで見たい人にはいつでも見て貰えるように、作ってるの顔が見える工場を作ったのですが、
そして
あの頃から25年経ち
井原に仕事で来れる様になったんだから感慨深いものです。
With this kind of experience, I felt I wanted to have a sewing factory open to anyone since I was given much by the people from the best mills so I wanted to give something back in return. That’s why TCB sewing factory is open to anyone.

3年ほど前に一緒に映画にも出演させて頂いた場所にて
TCBの50’sシリーズと20’s 30’sシリーズを織って頂いてます。
This mill is also in the film called Weaving Shibusa. our 50’s and 20&30’s fabrics are woven here.

生地や力織機に付いて語らなきゃと思ったのですが、10代の頃、バイクでウロウロしてた場所に行くとダメですね。

この街を歩けば　蘇る16歳
教科書の落書きはジーンズの絵とキミの顔（笑）
ずっと好きだったんだぜ（笑）
